Due to the low number of panel proposals and papers submitted by the 1st of December deadline, the organizers of the conference have regretfully decided to cancel the International Congress of Young Historical Demographers 2017 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The deadline for submitting panels for the International Congress for Young Historical Demographers in 23-27 August 2017 in Cluj-Napoca is approaching fast (1 December 2016). In this google document you can see what kind of panels are possible and who could contribute. If you have an interesting topic for a panel or if you want to contribute with a paper to a proposed panel please contact the panel organizer.

On Tuesday 20 September the first meeting of the Association for Young Historical Demographers took place in Bar del Sol, Leuven: 18 PhD candidates and post-docs from all over Europe discussed the goals and future plans of the AYHD. The general conclusion was that the AYHD should be both a platform for exchanging knowledge on historical demography and an organisation which stimulates social events for junior scholars.
